Coulee Region Audubon Society

For our October membership meeting, our speaker will be Kevin Kenow, Wildlife Research Biologist with the USGS in La Crosse. Kevin has been conducting research on the Common Loon for many years in the upper Midwest, and will be presenting his findings to us, including an assessment of Common Loon populations - and how they are adapting (or not) to the effects of climate change and other environmental factors.

For our first membership meeting of the 2026-2027 program year, Dan Jackson, a long-time member of the Coulee Region Audubon Society and a participant in the Wisconsin Mussel Monitoring Program, will give talk titled "The River Mussels of Wisconsin". His presentation will include the life cycle, importance, identification, and the current and past threats faced by river mussels. He will also discuss how you can help by participating in the Wisconsin Mussel Monitoring Program.
